Eleuthera to Exuma....

Is there any good and not super expensive way to get from Eleuthera to Exuma?  Like if you just wanted to go for the day?

I'd love to know as well. Boat charters maybe with favorable weather?

IMO the Exumas are so special you should just do it right spend at least a week there. Say rent one of the cottages at Staniel Key. And then rent one of the Boston Whalers they have available to get out a see the sights.

Otherwise the only scheduled day trips I know about to Exuma are out of Nassau.

I guess you could look into chartering somebody out of Spanishwells. But it's about a 100nm round trip from there just to get to and then back from say Allan's/Highbourne Key. About the first of the Exumas with something to see on them.

Skipper - I checked SCYC and they are booked through next May.  After April I lose interest. Actually my preference would to see some of the Family Island Regatta the 3rd week of April.

1-2 night stays are all that are left even they are few and far between.

My guess is that there are probably many "regulars/repeat clients" that block out weeks years ahead.  I guess there may be other accommodations on the island but having a boat rental is necessary for me and my fly rods!

Bummer.

Although I'm not surprised they are still so booked up. We were there a few weeks ago and I couldn't get us a spot at the dock even though I tried for over a week.

We stayed at Compass Key instead. Which is one of the most special places in the Exumas. I highly recommend it.
