New bar - Leo Rose in JC

A lively new bar has opened up in James Cistern called Leo Rose. On the beach with live music. Not sure which days but I saw Don the keyboardist and Dr. Seabreeze playing there last Tuesday. They have a nice menu of local standards.

It's an extension of the fairly new house that had the different colored concrete pillars holding it up.

Glad to learn it has opened. Saw the guys working on it on our last visit, stopped by to sticky beak and it looks like a floating bar maybe???

There was a very small looking bar near the water. Seats 4 maybe. Doesn't look very floaty though! With enough rum who cares though.

Live music at Leo Rose is on Thursday afternoons, 2-6.

Leo Rose is a casual, Bahamian-owned place on the beach between the road and the water just outside of James Cistern. The fish is fresh, the beers are cheap, and everyone seems happy. If nothing else the last attribute merits a visit!

I was told that that covered area right over the water on the shoreline is actually a "covered swimming pool". They excavated about 4-5 feet down and built a shade over it so you can swim/float/dangle feet in the water and not be in the sun. Really cool idea.
