| Anyone been to Deep Creek beach recently? (the one where you turn at the church and the road floods at high tide) My wife was reading (don't remember the source) about heavy equipment being used to "harvest" sand from that location. | |

| Sad to say, the locals are always harvesting sand from there... but it doesn't seem to affect the beach yet. The sand removed is usually from an area before where visitors park and slightly back from the beach, in the bush... so not too visible to most. | |

| Thanks for that info Kristelsea. We are visiting in early November and will include Deep Creek on the list. Have attempted visits a couple times in the past but the high tide over the road has always caused us to turn back. Will coordinate our visit this time with the low tide. | |

| Kristel does the high tide always cover that stone road? I thought we were there during a high tide but perhaps i'm mistaken or it was a lower than normal high tide. How long does it remain covered? Lovely beach there. | |

| Bluenoser... the high tide will usually cover the road at that low point over the creek with a few inches of water, but you can still see the road. However, during really high tides (such as the Super Moon) will cover the low point with enough water that you can't see it and will also cover that first stretch of built up road with enough water you cannot see it either.

| Made it to Deep Creek beach for first time last week. What a lovely place. And Kristelsea, my apologies if that was you and some tour guests who were also there in the morning. I don't believe there was in frontal nudity on my part, maybe just the occasionally moon shot | |

| Not me... if it was white people it was probably island school staff. Nice beach. I actually haven't been out there in quite a while. Truck's out of commission and road is too bad for my van. (Unless it has been improved?)
Dress as you desire, doesn't phase me! In my opinion, if you don't wanna see it move somewhere else!!!! | |

| Maybe they were from the island school, but it sure looked like a small (five people) tour group. They boated into the Deep Creek cove in a boat about the size of yours kristelsea, and they were pulling a smaller dinghy behind them. They anchored out in the cove, all got out of the boat and into the dinghy and boated up into deep creek. They weren't fishing, just sight seeing. All wearing those lovely orange life jackets, had tourist written all over them. Anyone else provide that type of tour in your area kristelsea? | |

| No one else does tours (legally) except for one operation in Savannah Sound. And they don't come south. Maybe just some vacationers. | |
