Looking for a light boat Empty
PostSubject: Looking for a light boat   Looking for a light boat EmptyTue Dec 15, 2015 12:17 am

Wifey would like for me to get a slightly better boat but it would have to be light (under 2,500 GVW) including trailer. This means a 16-19 foot with a 40-90 max HP or twin (smaller HP). She likes the Bluewave, Livingston and Twin Vee as potential boats. We arrive in 3 weeks and wifey would be a motivated buyer. Me, I have some patience but I don't want to be looking too long either.

Appreciate any help or leads.

I would recommend speaking with Paul Petty the fishing guide.  I bet he knows just about every boat around and what shape they're in.

Wifey is a motivated buyer of a boat.....and you aren't (?).....sorry, I just have no basis on which to relate to that statement. It's like you guys are from a different planet Blue! Smile Good luck on the hunt. Hope to catch up with you guys when we get down there next. Happy sands to you......until we meet again.

The internet is sometimes a weird and wonderful beast. The person who owned the house in my backyard in Oleander sold before we could become face to face aquantances and have instead become internet buddies. He was the person who saw my post on the old old Leu net forum looking for land and his current neighbour (at that time) had a couple lots which we purchased.

After Wifey had been doing another 'we need a better boat' chant (again), I used her Facebook account to post a boat wanted ad on a few sites. Then I went out for groceries, came back - Wifey still ranting and that charming old dude who I have never met came through again. It seems only fitting that I have purchased his boat, a 17 Mako centre console with 90 HP. There is going to be a heck of a lot of lobster and fish put into that in the next few years. I am a shore jumpin spear fishing fiend, don't need the deep water to keep me happy.

And, my car arrived in Nassau today

Wifey has now moved on to a hobie sailing trimaran - she is in a hurry to do it all NOW.
